Gears and Shafts
Witco has been a gear manufacturer since it was founded in 1977. Over the years Witco has slowly invested in better gear equipment in order to meet the needs of its growing customer base. In 2005, the owners of Witco purchased Drive-All Manufacturing which is an industrial multi-speed gearbox manufacturer. This acquisition required Witco to develop their gear department to a whole new level. Witco is the sole supplier of gears, shafts, and machined housings to Drive-All Manufacturing.

Witco Inc. is a member of AGMA and our gears meet the requirements of an AGMA 10 rating. We have also developed a network of certified suppliers that can heat treat, finish coat, or finish grind all of the gears or shafts that we create in order to meet our customer’s requirements.
Making the gear or shaft is only the first step in the gear manufacturing process. Witco has the technology to verify its adherence to the tightest tolerances with a Zeiss Prismo Super Accurate CMM. Witco purchased a custom software package and rotary table for the Zeiss Prismo that allows us to check gears and up to a 48” shaft. Gear inspection results can be charted and printed in order to verify shaft straightness, shaft roundness, gear concentricity, gear lead error, tooth major and minor, gear runout, backlash and tooth involutes. We have been told by Zeiss that it is one of the most accurate CMMs in the State of Michigan. The Zeiss Prismo provides the ability to check tolerances to a sub micron level.
As a contract manufacturer we understand the importance of exceeding customer expectations and building a mutually beneficial relationship. By working with companies in several industries we have learned that there is more to a great relationship than just creating great parts. We offer non-compete agreements, confidentiality agreements, blanket orders, and “Just in Time” deliveries.
